Biography

Like all the best coaches, in my opinion, my journey into the  tness industry was through personal struggle. As an obese 16 stone teenager I battled to lose the 5.5 extra stone I’d had for most of my childhood, only then to be left skinny fat looking at 10.5 stone.

That then spurred a journey to athleticism, optimal health, performance and muscle, where I now sit at 13.5 stone lean, happy both physically and mentally. This whole journey of intolerances, ADHD, asthma, obesity, eczema, poor concentration and health inspired me to leave my acting career of 12 years to become a nutritionist and trainer. Simon Herbert

 

Biography

My involvement with sport started in school at the age of 10. I started karate and jujitsu like most young boys looking to turn their hand to the influence of Bruce Lee. My sporting involvement continued through school where I was picked for track events, where I represented the school for sprinting. I was always involved in many sports at school, but my main passion for building a strong physique and competing in martial arts is what set me apart from my class mates. At the age of 14 I was already lifting heavy weights and coaching friends while others were out drinking. My life revolved around having a strong physique and training in martial arts which progressed the older I got. I was competing in local bodybuilding shows by the age of 20 and went on to compete in the bigger shows, placing 3rd out of 21 in my first big show. Carl Greenslade

 

Biography

My journey into the fitness world doesn’t come from a background of health issues or body composition concerns, it is simply because I absolutely love it! In school I was always the kid who got away with murder as I was good at sports, always winning the 100 and 200 meter races, and playing football for the year above as well as my own. I never went to college or University as I found learning from a book very hard. Instead I wanted to go on a journey, get stuck in and gain experience; learning from both my mistakes and triumphs along the way. From the ages of 17-20 I pretty much did every job out there, and throughout this time I was always found in the gym. At the time I had no idea what I was doing with my training, but I was doing it anyway and learning. Biography

My own personal journey into the nutrition & fitness industry has been a somewhat unconventional route as I started out with a career as a professional dancer for a decade performing internationally with many renowned choreographers worldwide. After retiring still in my twenties I then went on to train for & compete in mixed distance triathlons & various endurance cycling & swim events. The competitive streak in me led me to the quest for PB race times & top 10 age group placings & in order to increase power, speed & reduce various injuries I began weight training. I have never looked back. Biography

Steve began his training career at the age of 10 in Taekwondo and before that was always active in sports from a young age. He achieved his 1st Dan black belt aged 14 and went on to successfully teach his own classes for nearly 15 years as a 3rd Dan instructor. He designed his own syllabus to black belt and has trained thousands of students. He went on to study Wing Chun, Praying Mantis, Shaolin Kun Fu, Hsing Yi Chuan, weapon training and Qi Gong. Since around 2000 he has worked his way to the top of the UK kettlebell industry as the author of the first ever REPS recognised kettlebell course, author of the UK's first comprehensive DVD on kettlebell instruction and accompanying workouts. Troy Martin

 

Biography

Troy started his career in sports and fitness as a lifeguard and swimming instructor. It was the swimming teaching where he discovered his passion for coaching and helping people to improve and achieve goals. After several yeas of this, including stints coaching club squads and school swim teams he decided to get his first fitness qualifications and studied for a diploma in professional personal training. The personal training diploma included two nutrition modules, equivalent to REPs level 3. Troy continued his own development and chose to study nutrition in more depth. Biography

Hi, I’m Tommy; I like to eat great food and pick up heavy stuff. But it hasn’t always been this way. Whilst health, athleticism and sport have been a big part of my life since a young age, growing up I was always a pretty skinny guy. And like a lot of skinny guys, I had the desire to get bigger, stronger and build a muscular physique. Biography

As a lot of coaches do, I come from a strong background of sport. These sports included soccer and Gaelic football mainly from the age of 6, with some swimming and running thrown in there too. I wanted to be the best at everything I put my hand to, but after realising music and dancing were not my strongest points, I decided to stick with the sports side of things!
